Daisuke: The Artistry of Resin and Wood

In the historic pottery town of Tokoname, Japan, Daisuke transforms resin and wood into luminous creations that blend tradition with innovation. For six years, he has pursued the perfect balance—testing over twenty types of resin to achieve the highest level of clarity, durability, and depth. His work embodies patience and precision, shaping each piece through a methodical process that highlights the natural elegance of wood and the glass-like brilliance of resin.

Among his most striking works are egg-like sculptures, miniature worlds sealed beneath layers of polished resin. Light bends and refracts, revealing hidden textures, shifting perspectives, and inviting quiet contemplation. Each piece is a careful negotiation between control and spontaneity—an artistic dialogue between materials, form, and time.

Beyond craftsmanship, Daisuke finds fulfillment in the connections his work fosters. Watching customers study his creations, their fingers hovering over the surface as they search for the perfect piece, is a reminder of why he creates. Each object carries its own presence—a tiny universe shaped by hand, meant to evoke wonder, curiosity, and a fleeting escape from reality.

House of Shokunin welcomes you to an art form of light, layers, and quiet enchantment.
